test strips

Is it ok to use human test strips (for testing for UTI and acidosis, etc) for testing my cat? Do I need to purchase specifically for cats or will human test strips give accurate results? I would think that the values might be different between human and cat.

Thank you for the reply. I know people check the kidney function of their cats with test strips (I think for ketones and maybe I should be doing that) but I’m not sure that the values are the same but I might be overthinking it. I went ahead and ordered some.

You wont be wasting money on them. Every diabetic cat should have them in their tool box

You can use human test strips to check your cat for ketones, yes. Don't rely on them for blood glucose levels, for that you will need a blood test meter.
