My test strips have two expiration dates. One is 12/2016, the other is 3 months after opening the foil.
Obviously, the first is still valid. The second, however, is not. She is in remission so we are not testing as often. Down to approximately once/week. So we're right around 3 months since opening the bottle now.
They've always been kept in the original container, within the recommended temperature and humidity ranges.
But at this point I still have several weeks worth of strips in there. Should I toss them, or continue to use them?
What would I expect to see if they're going bad? High readings? Low readings? Error codes?

I had test strips from before my kitty was diabetic and they were actually 2 years past the expiry. When my guy was diagnosed I tried out a few on myself and they showed the correct range for me. I did a few tests on my kitty and they matched what the vet tests were (before I was home=testing) but ended up getting a meter that used less blood.

I would keep the strips and just test on yourself to make sure they are reading ok,
