Still doing OK on Lantus. There's a little more breathing room at his current dose so I'll stay there for a bit. The runs of dark green are nice but they require constant focus on testing and snack intervention to maintain them - not sustainable.

Very nice cycle today after a scary AMPS. I didn't have to steer with food at all - exactly what I like in a "good numbers" cycle. It unfolded on its own. No heroic efforts on my part to keep things on an even keel. :)

As a newbie, who has been scouring posts and SS, I can't figure out why a AMPS shot number is in the green then after insulin it goes up to blue?:confused: Is it just the wackiness of insulin. Oooo or is it after feeding and food influenced?:bookworm: I just tested Beenie and her number went up since PMPS, she was fed two hours prior. Here I am thinking I'll hopefully get a yellow again since I eliminated the sugar laced turkey deli meat from 6:30am this morning.:banghead:

Marathon, marathon.....no sprinters here :D. Just venting. I just got impatient

Teasel's colors look awesome:bighug::bighug:

Teasel is on a different insulin. Kris gives him Lantus. It's a depot insulin and behaves quite differently than Prozinc. You can hop over to the Lantus forum and read up about it. They have a ton of great Stickies over that explain it.

It's often up because of the food they've eaten. Usually by +3 or so that food effect is gone so you can see the insulin's action. Sometimes the BG will drop after a meal because the pancreas is sputtering and putting out a bit of its own insulin in response to the food.
