Is a 500 mg tablet of Taurine the same in content as a 500 mg caplet of Taurine? I wasn't able to get the tablet form of Taurine for a cat food recipe that calls for 1/4 of a 500 mg tablet so I got the 500 mg caplets instead. I know that it is almost impossible to measure out the powder in the caplet into fourths so if I quadrupled the other recipe ingredients, would not one full 500 mg caplet make the ratio the same? In my mind it would, but I need to be sure.

Thanks!

Duh - I thought a caplet was the same thing as a capsule. I just opened the bottle and have the taurine in caplet form - it is indeed a capsule shaped tablet! So it looks like I do not have to quadruple the recipe if I don't want to - I can just cut the tablet into "4s."
Thanks, Larry!

In the future, you can find taurine in complete powdered form. You measure it out by 1/4 tsp = 500mg and multiply accordingly for your recipe. Beats crushing up lots of tablets.

this is what I use. I also get my l-lysine from there

yup that is the exact one I use too.... couldn't post a link before though :-D

As I look closer at the Taurine I bought, I see that each 500 mg pill is a "vegetarian" caplet. What does that mean exactly? It seems like I read somewhere that "vegetable" capsules are not good for cats?
