Hope someone is on that knows the answer to this wierd question.... :) What size child's T-shirt fits a 'normal size' cat? Spike's 15 lbs but a regular stocky cat frame rather than one of our big boys.

THANK YOU!!!!

Not weird at all!

I'm actually not sure what the right answer is (infant or the next size up?), but for a stocky-framed cat I might try a small-sized doggie t-shirt instead. The sleeve/shoulder positioning is better for a 4-legged creature, which might be important for a larger-framed kitty.

Thanks Nan - that's my issue too. If I can find them for a lot less than $19 that they have been, I'll go with those instead but I suspect I'll not. Prices for 'accessories' here are stOOpid!

I don't know about baby shirts. However, a onesie size 0-3 months is way to big for a 5-6 lb kitten. I was looking for something when PJ was spayed so I could take the cone off. I think it would fit my 11 lb kitty though. You should be okay with a 3-6 month size, as a typical newborn baby doubles its birth weight in 3-6 months.

The pet t-shirts sure didn't fit the bill for this! They all leave the belly open and cover the back AND the cheapest one was $12. I ended up getting onsies and will either cut off the bottom or cut OUT the bottom, we'll see... :)

Not a silly question at all! I asked my neighbor if she had any onesies that her baby had grown out of, probably the silliest question she had ever had! Coral was about 12 lbs at the time I needed to have a covering to help a surgery incision heal. It was close to her neck. My neighbor had a size for an 18 month old so the only alteration I had to make was to sew up the neck so she couldn't get at her skin issue on her shoulder. I just left the snaps open and she had no problem using her box. The other option I used was an elizabethan collar that I made out of cardboard and used string to thread through holes I had punched at the closing so it was easy to get in and out of.

I found that WalMart had the least expensive onesies and some were on "sale." The other option may be to look into a thrift store. This worked well for Coral and she healed and has no "scar" lack of fur in the area. Best to you, Kathe

Hi Kathe!! Nice to see you!

I got onesies but just learned I misjudged his fat self...should have gotten a 12 or 18 but one fit. I was afraid his injured foot would catch on the snap area so cut about 1.5" off that. The other 3 are smaller and I don't think they'll fit....unless I coat him in vaseline. :)

These are the most adorable photos!

would you like a hoodie for a x-small dog? it's pastel pink. still has the tags on it....

I got it for my cat when she was little and it was way too big. I had to take a sweatshirt sleeve and cut it off and make head and leg holes......
the only thing that was small enough for her back then.

if he's that much bigger, maybe a sweatpant leg would fit him .....

@Tricia Cinco(GA) & Harvey and @rhiannon and shadow (GA) - THANK YOU BOTH for your offers of cover-ups but I think we're going to be fine with the onesies we have. Size 6-9 months fits, the ones I got are like little tank tops without sleeves and are working well. I changed to another one this morning while the others are being washed...he's not messing with them which is surprising me! I truly expected him to throw a fit and work his way out of them. He actually seems to enjoy them. The only issue I've run into is his hair tends to cause them to work their way down as he moves a lot. Not hard to just grab the top and pull it back up a bit.

Maybe he likes that "Thundershirt" feeling of security.

Lyresa, I'm thrilled that you found a solution that Spike seems to be accepting. I haven't seen an update, but it sounds like he's doing well, all things considered? I'm still praying for him every night.

How is DH? I hope his paralysis has passed and he's feeling better. Vines for both him and for Spike and :bighug:to you.
