Hi everyone.
Just a quick question.
I use the 3/10 U100 syringes from Walmart, the Relion brand.
Well I went in and just got 20 OTC the other day and just noticed today that they gave me the shorter needle.
So the needle is about half the length as the usual one.
Is this ok?
Can I still use them?
They told me when I bought OTC the needles were non refundable.
They were in the same package and look the same as the regular ones I always get. SO i opened the package and put them in my storage container that I use, so I obviously can't return them anyway.
They were only $3 but still...
I just gave Moo his PM shot and it seemed to go the same as usual....
Thoughts?
Thanks!
Annie

I didn't have problems with the shorter needle. It actually made it less likely I'd shoot through the tent and out the other side.

Well jeez, I had never worried about hitting a vein... until now! LOL

I just popped one open to give him his PM dose and was like, um, wait a min... IKnow my powers of observation aren't the best, but I THINK these are a bit shorter than his other ones! I found an older one and compared. About half the length.
The only thing I was worried about was the needle not being long enough to get the insulin to go into the right spot?
lol
Good to know it's ok :)
THanks everyone!

I keep doing this too! Mikey hates when I give him shots with the shorter needles and I just spent half an hour chasing him down in the backyard to give him his PMS because my last batch I bought were the short needles. They work well-enough that I still use them if I have to, but everyone is happier in my house when I'm using the long needles.

Who knows! You might find out that you prefer the short ones. Some of my friends who occasionally give Mikey his shots prefer the short ones (and he doesn't seem to mind when they use the shorter needles either).

ETA: and this was just my 1000th post! I don't know if I should congratulate me or you for that....
