Sybil hit the limes

Hi again @Suzanne & Darcy

:) So Sybil has been doing well then I think bounced a couple of times so I was trying to get her dosage right without raising her numbers again. She got some lime numbers tonight but she was absolutely fine. I have to leave for work early in the morning but I can test and shoot normal time. I want to go down to 0.5 unit at least if her AMPS number is somewhat normal but I won’t be home to check her. Is this the right thing to do?

thank you

Hi there! I’ve been thinking about you. I was just thinking of you and your father last night… hoping that things were well. I was planning to check in on you and see how Sybil has been doing, but I assumed all was well on that front since I hadn’t heard from you for a while.

Sybil has definitely earned a reduction down to .5 units so that should be her new dose going forward.

Good morning. I was concerned that 0.5 would maybe be too much today since I can’t test but I did it as you mentioned thanks for that.

She ate what she always eats: free feeds in Dr Elseys and after amps and pmps, canned Fancy Feast Cat Naturals Gourmet.
Thank you and I hope all is well with you. I have to get going for work.

I was just checking back in on Sybil. She’s having some amazing cycles the last couple of days. What is your reduction point? Is it 90 (SLGS) or did we ever select a custom reduction point? I saw the 74 today and was wondering. 74 on an Alpha Trak is getting down there (still very safe above 68) but you might want to try doing a reduction down to .25 units :cat: and hold it for at least 6 cycles and see if the reduction holds and she continues to do well on it. What do you think?

Heyyyy I won’t drop it yet from one low number. I can watch her tonight and tomorrow morning. I’ve been kind of using my best judgement and I’m much more comfortable now even in the 70’s. Sybil wants remission .

I haven’t missed one shot since we started this journey. Up at 4:30 am seven days a week and it’s working! You gave me good tools and I’m confident. Thanks for peeping in. I would appreciate the spot checks and I’ll definitely tag you if I am unsure or need a confidence booster. Thank you :)

let’s go! Mama needs sleep.

She is a long-term diabetic (diagnosed more than 1 year ago) so one lower number is not a cause for a reduction as long as you are doing careful monitoring — as you are. If she drops below 68 — even then if it’s just one drop below 68 and not really a lot below 68 — it’s not necessarily cause for reduction. You would have to evaluate it on a case by case basis.
