I know I haven't been on the board in forever, but I thought I would let you all know that Podo passed quietly in her sleep tonight. She was a tough fighter. The vet sent her home with me @5.5lbs and not expecting her to live through the night. That was March of 2010. I know I wouldn't have been able to get through the tough times without all your help. She fought her way back to ~10lbs and some smoooooooth BG curves that made all the kitties jealous. But in the end, I think the damage to her kidneys and liver was just too much. She was laying on the bed and happily swishing her tail just a couple hours before she passed. So at least she passed quickly and with little or no pain.

I wasn't yet on the board when you were here, but I'm so sorry to hear that your Podo has gone. I'm happy for you, though, that it was a restful, relaxed passing for her. I'm sure you'll miss her greatly. She'll have a lot of friends meeting her at the bridge, I'm sure. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry Brian. She was a real trooper. Podo and you were fortunate to have almost 2 extra years together when even the vet thought her time was up in March 2010. I hope that thought can comfort you a little. My heart goes out to you. ((((((((Hugs))))))))

So sorry for your loss, Brian, but it just goes to show how wrong the vets can be when the kitty is a fighter and the owner is full of caring and love for the kitty.
I am so glad she did not suffer.
Fly free, sweet Podo.

Oh, Brian...NO!!!

I'm just heartbroken to see this.
Podo was such a wonderful girl.

You and she made us laugh on so many tough days.
So terribly sorry for your grief.

Land softly, Podo... you will be sorely missed.

All four of us lighting candles to light your sweet little girl's way...

Brian, I am so sorry (((((hugs))))
I'm glad her passing was quick.
You know she's running and jumping and sunning herself in a meadow filled with butterflys and grasshoppers :) now.

She will be waiting for you to join her, someday.

I am so sorry for your loss. I just went back to read Podo's profile. It is so clear how much you cared about her and I am sure that your love was returned tenfold.

Fly free little one and land softly. There are many who are just as loved waiting to welcome you at the Bridge.

Dear (((((Brian))))),
Podo was such a fine, brave kitty and we know how much you will miss her. She chose her time so as to be at home with you and to tell you how much she loved you.
Fly free, sweet Podo, on your beautiful new golden wings, land softly, and know that you are much loved. Your GA friends are at the Bridge to welcome you. We will light a candle tonight to help you find your way.

In deepest sympathy,

Ella and Edward, Rusty, and Stu (GA)

Brian, I am so sorry to hear Podo has gone - but at the same time, glad that her passage to the bridge was gentle and quick. She was so lucky to have had you to care for her.

I'm so sorry to hear about Podo and can only imagine how much your heart aches. It is so special to hear that she died peacefully at home - what an honor to her sweet spirit. Maybe her tail was twitching as she began to see the butterflies, squirrels, and birds for her to watch at the rainbow bridge.

Brian,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss of Podo. Take comfort in that she had a peaceful passing. I know you'll miss her terribly. Through your love and caring she had a wonderful life. My thoughts are with you.

(((Brian)))

I am so sorry but what a blessing she went quietly at home where she was loved. (((((hugs)))))

Oh Brian, I'm so very sorry for your loss of sweet, sweet Podo. May you find comfort both in your memories of her, and knowing that she passed at home, on her own terms, surrounded by love. Fly free little one. wings_cat
