Trying to remember how low for I should be concerned with the human meter? My cat no longer has the Libre. I can't is usually testing between 2 and 400 sometimes a little higher sometimes Lauer but never gone below a 100 she just tested at 81. I got home late tonight so fed her supper at the same time is I tested her. Suggestions? She is acting her normal food hoarding self. Thanks

So 81 is a safe number. Have you given insulin? Is so how much after is it? Or is this a preshot number?

Under 50 at any time is too low and you need to give high carb food or Karo and monitor closely. If following SLGS then under 90 calls for a reduction but it’s safe.

This was pre shot number in the evening. I did not give her any insulin that low was going to retest here shortly. So hard her numbers are all overToday has been lower but she was just at 500 like yesterday or the day before.

It’s typical with a newly diagnosed diabetic. With a lower than usual preshot number we ask that you stall, don’t feed, and retest in 20 minutes. Often the bg will be on the way up. It will really help if you read about TR and SLGS and decide which you want to try. You can always change but which you follow determines how to advise you.

Sorry. Please update your spreadsheet. There are g any numbers for today. We use two methods here. One us Start Low Go Slow. The other is Tight Regulation. Hence SLGS and TR. The link I posted explains both. See which will work for you. In the meantime I think 81 is too low for you to shoot. If you didn’t feed and the BG is going up you could shoot. But if you follow SLGS you would lower the dose by .25.

I read the link you sent me most of it is not anything new it's the very basic things that I've been doing for the last month. The rest of it is over my head but I don't really learn by reading belong articles like that. Thanks anyway. I fed her at the same time I tested her so too late I already fed her.

You sound a little frustrated. Don’t be. This isn’t easy at first but will get easier I promise. How are you deciding on dosing?
