Hello,

My Peanut passed away last week, Feb 7th. He was buried Sunday. Peanut was almost 15 years old and had battled through diabetes for 9 years. This transition has been so painful, but I know he is always there looking out for me. I love him more than ever.

The reason I am writing is because I had just purchased a new vial of Lantas the week of 1/25. Peanut only used 3 doses from it, all with new syringes. I have about 70 syringes left as well. I would like to donate the insulin and syringes to someone in need who lives close to me. I am in Chester County, PA. Please respond if you are close by and if you use Lantas.

Thank you all for your kindness. I never realized how hard it would be to lose my best friend. He was the one constant thing in my life the past 15 years and I had no idea how huge a hole would be left now that he is gone. My heart goes out to all who have lost their beloved kitties.

Please do let me know if anyone can use his insulin though - send a PM if you prefer.

I'm sorry for you loss. It is always hard to say goodbye. Have you thought about donating the supplies back to your vet's office. Maybe they have a client that they could give the supplies to. I live in Wallingford Pa Delaware County. I'm sure I could find someone in a rescue group that may be able to use. I use Lantus for my Brie but I'm pretty good on my stock.

My deepest sympathes, Charlyanne. Land softly, dear Peanut. wings_cat

As some said, I am nearby, in North Wilmington Delaware. If no one here asks for the insulin and syringes, I have a few options for you. I can check with a couple nearby Diabetic Cats in Need (DCIN) clients that use Lantus to see how their stocks are and if one needs it put you in touch with him/her. (Those folks are not active members of this group.) I could call my vet in West Chester to see whether she has a client that can use a Lantus donation (I know my vet does redistribute unopened or fresh Lantus). Finally, I could pick up the Lantus and ship it to a remote DCIN client, saving you the trouble and expense of overnight shipping.

Please let me know if you would like me to do any of these. You can PM me or email Venita@dcin.info.

Bless you for offering Peanut's supplies to another extra-sweet kitty.

Sorry to hear about Peanut. I know the loss you are feeling. The house has a new emptiness to it, I am sure. I am sure he knew he was loved so deeply.

I gave Joey's stuff to his vet, knowing that there had to be another patient there who could use it. The rest of his stuff went to the shelter and food to a neighbor who has two cats.

So sorry for you loss! I know how you feel. My Midora passed away at 13 a few months after we moved to Fl from Phoenixville. My dad lives in Chester Springs.

So sorry for your loss. You must be a great mom, being able to manage the diabetes for so long. Peace to you and yours.
