So my vet suggested part of the problem with my cats and urinary issues could be stress. The new vet I saw today (who I love!) agreed that stress can cause issues. Previous vet suggested a pheromone diffuser...current vet didn't mention it, but I am thinking of giving it a try. Current vet had said something about possible anti anxiety pills but I want to try something before considering drugging them up.

With all that in mind...recommendations? I do have 3 cats. What's the best choice? Did it help your cats?

I had a cat that was treated for UTI with a couple different antibiotics to no avail. I decided to do some research and found out that stress can cause the inflammation and thus symptoms of a UTI. I got my diffuser from Walmart-not sure of the brand, and tried to relieve his stress the best I could. His was caused by a new cat that didn't like him. I kept that cat separate and tried to keep calm myself. Fighting cats tend to get me stressed and the cats can sense my stress then they get stressed, then I'm stressed.....:banghead: Anyway my cats fine now, don't know if the diffuser helped or not, but I'd give it a shot, it certainly won't hurt.

I haven't had success with the diffusers. But I do have some success if I spray bedding and towels (i.e. for the kitty carrier) with Rescue Remedy. A member here has had success with a Petsmart's product. I think it is called Nature's Miracle Just for Cats Calming Spray.

I had success with Feliway spray. I was told by an SPCA animal behaviorist to spray 3 -4 squirts onto a cloth and go wipe in onto your cats favorite places to lay. I did this religiously every morning for the duration of the sprayer and my civvie cat, Forrest stopped peeing out of the box almost immediately. We were remodeling and he did not like the noise or the fumes from paint and varnishes and he was "pissed off" .

Sending Good luck vibes to your household. :bighug:
