Nelli really fights with me whenever (in past) I had tried to give her anything oral
She loves Bupe, :cat: of course- has only ever been given it subQ though-
Oral arriving today from diamdback- I want to give it best shot, first time lining her gums.
Any advice and or experience would be greatly appreciated :bighug:

Sorry, not much help to offer, just commisseration. We've had to give our big boy oral antibiotics - 1.7 mL at a time - and it's a wrestling match every time. At least the Bupe is a smaller dose? If you have a helper, try the cat burrito trick maybe.

We used to have a Tortie who simply would not let anything be put in her mouth. The few times we tried to pill her or administer oral meds, we ended up bruised and bloody, so we just had to give it up and get injections.

Good luck - the oral Bupe we gave our two after dental procedures was just a tiny dose, and doesn't need to be swallowed, so move quickly and do the best you can.

I only used it once. My understanding it doesnt necessary need to line the gums, just get it on the mucus membranes in the mouth. Just aim for the inside of the cheek and just do the best you can...that's all we all can do:)
