Hello Lantus Land!
It has been a while since I have posted an update, I have been reading updates and thinking of all you wonderful folks and kitties!
I thought I'd pop on and give an update as well as ask for some positive vines for my dear Lucy as she is having major dental work done in the morning (Wednesday)
We are almost at our 6 month OTJ annifursary (Nov 13th) and Lucy has been wonderful! Each time I would spot test her, she would give me a nice green, with the occasional low blue - just to keep me on my toes I am sure!
Lucy has gained 0.6kg since being on her wet food only diet and being regulated! She is a 'normal' cat weight now! Her obese civvie sister Ethel has lost 1.4kg  since the diet change! From a whopping 9.1kg to a nice 7.7kg! She no longer looks like a raccoon...she has a middle! Vet is thrilled with both weight changes!
Over the last couple of weeks we have come home to some surprises outside of the litter box! ugh! Of course I freaked out and thought her diabetes was back....grabbed my test kit, but nope, normal numbers! Off to the vet we go....urine and blood tests come back all clear *phew* We (the vet and I) figure it is a behaviour issue (trying to tell us she isn't feeling well) as she was urinating in the same spot she was before she was treated for the diabetes! We have known for some time that her teeth need to be removed...they have been problematic since before the diabetes, but we needed to control the diabetes first. Since the diabetes are controlled, surgery is booked for 9am tomorrow!
I'm sure she will do great, but positive thoughts would be welcomed! I will update tomorrow evening after I get home with her!
On another note, we have officially adopted my mom's droller (Molly)! Mom broke her leg in June....while hiking with Molly no less! She had to be carried more than 2km out of the conservation area they were in!! We took Molly in for 10 weeks while Mom healed, she loved it here! Huge yard, a constant companion with our drooler Logan, tolerated the cats as best as could be expected! When Mom had been cleared by the doctors, she wanted Molly back....we weren't thrilled, but obliged! Less than two weeks later, Mom calls and asks if we will take Molly back. She was finding it difficult to keep up with her and walk her safely (both Mom's and Molly's) A bit on an adjustment this time, but our fur family is back together - or as we call it the ark (we have two of each; people, dogs and cats)
Sending thoughts and healing vines to all who need them!
Val, Sugar Free Lucy & the crew (Ethel, Logan & Molly)
