I am new to the group! My sugar cat Charger was diagnosed January 28th and the vet prescribed Prozinc 1 unit. They ran bloodwork, no keytones. He is fed ff pate, friskies Pate, and wysong epigen 90 dry. I couldn't ask for a better cat to come when called for testing time! His numbers were all over the place for awhile. An admin on the fb feline diabetes page has been wonderful about slowly upping his amount of insulin whereas the vet wanted him to go straight to 2 units from 1 unit. Please let me know if I am doing anything wrong and if he seems ok. I have skipped his doses several times as they were low and was scared he would go into hypo.
He is not peeing and drinking as much as he was and is not howling for food like he was. He seems to be doing great! Thank you for reading this.https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...pliYVMC0PtSksWg89-HVSekhigQ/edit?usp=drivesdk

I just checked him before he gets fed and possible shot. His number is 134 using the relion human meter. Should I wait 20-30 min with no food and test again? His shot time is 6:30am and 6:30pm.

Not sure if this is too late. If you have have a question like "should I shot?" Put a question mark prefix in the thread title and ask the question there to get peoples attention.

Thank you! I will do that next time for sure. I appreciate any advice as I am new and still learning!

I went a head and fed him and gave him 1.25 unit instead of 1.5 unit. I will test him again at +2/+3

Hi Jacyln and Charger and welcome to the forums. Charger is looking good, lots of blue and now some greens mixing in!

I'm new to all this as well, so can't offer much advice other than..stick around, the people here are fantastic!! they will help you a ton, and Charger too.

Welcome
Here is a link helping us to help you link. If you noticed, our members have some basic information about their cat's in their signature. This helps us to not pester you by asking the same questions (your cat's name, insulin type, date of diagnosis, etc.) repeatedly. We also have a link to our spreadsheet in our signature. We are very numbers driven. The spreadsheet is a record of your cat's progress. By linking it in your signature, we can follow along and provide feedback should you need the help.

Have you read the dosing methods to choose from, they will let you know when an increase or decrease is due.

I got my signature set up! Thank you so much. I am reading now the link you posted. He just gave me 117 so I will test again closer to shot time and see what I need to do.
