Sue and Ruben- #'s question

i have not updated my ss in awhile...but in the meantime, can someone answer a question? Ruben had been doing really well about 3 weeks ago....nadir in the low 100's and it stayed that way for awhile. even getting lower than normal numbers at amps and pmps. now, he is staying in the 300's all day long with virtually no fluctuation. i just took a reading at +7 and he is at the same # as amps. this is with a slight dose increase over the past month. what could it be? test strip wrong? meter needs new battery? lantus is old (not cloudy and been in fridge when i bought the 5 vial packet in october) thoughts??? thanks
sue

How long have you been using your current pen?? Sometimes 1 pen out of a pack may go bad earlier than the others - even if it isn't cloudy etc.
Are you feeding him any different? Could he be getting into "forbidden" foods?
Does have have any signs of an infection/when was last dental?

current pen probably one month or so ..maybe a bit more. he recently had a dental. he has not gotten into any dry food today (although he did the other day) ..feeding same food. i just checked again at +10 and it is the same as it was this morning and throughout the day within 20 points or so.

All kinds of stuff may be affecting Rubben's BG. Dentals are known to affect BG... sometimes causing cats to go OTJ.
I really can't speculate without all the information and without an update SS and multiple spot checks. Pink could be bounce or could be not enough insulin... Without sounding mean, may I suggest that you update your SS and write the dental information in the SS (meds) in the comment section so we can make a better assessment.
Sorry I'm not really helpful.
