Peanut has started to act like he's in heat or something, he's totally neutered but he's yowling and howling. Now he's biting his brother on the back and trying to mount him in an aggressive manner and Ginger is crying out in pain. Me or Joe will run Ginger's rescue every time and then nearly have to pull Peanut off of Ginger, then since Ginger is scared of what is going on, he starts hissing at us. Joe is getting pissed off and telling me that if I don't correct the situation like NOW that I can't continue to stay here with the cats and I don't know what to do.

Does anyone know what in the hell might be going on here?

Hard to say but those are signs of hyperthyroid among other things. I'd take Peanut to the vet for a blood test and exam. :bighug:

I just found an article that says that a male that was neutered later in life and had sexual experience like Peanut can still exhibit dominant male behavior for years and they can detect a female in heat for several blocks away. I am more inclined to believe that because he has done this before, long before he was a diabetic. Also Joe is an asshole so I'm pretty sure that I'm moving out and I don't have much money to my name, certainly not enough to move AND take Peanut to the vet, it's more important that I get Peanut away from this guy before anything else.

I'm not sure what to suggest. Some stressor may have prompted it that you're not aware of.
You may need to separate and reintroduce as if they were meeting for the first time.

I have good results with feliway multicat diffusers.

I've also heard good things about Jackson Galaxy Bully Cat which I believe you put on the aggressive cat to calm them.

My cat Zimmy started yoweled at night until we realized he had high blood pressure. He never was aggressive with the others though.

How did things work out with Phoebe? I know there has been changes and stress on the kitty level in the last little bit. Is that all resolved now or is there something still going on that can be contributing to this behaviour?
