Have access to some lactated ringers. Bag spiked 2 months ago - still good?

I would think that the contents of the bag are perfectly fine, until the expiry date on the bag. If you find the fluids in the line are a concern, just drain the line... that's what I did. and then fill it with fresh from the bag.

I agree, ditch it. You cannot take the risk that any type of bacteria have entered the bag. There is no way to keep the needle air tight. Also, if anything got on it when it was put on, the bacteria could have multiplied and worked its way up the line.

I know individual bags and lines are expensive from the vet, but you can buy fluids by the case from Costco or Sams pharmacies, probably even Wal-Mart I believe I have read here. If you live in a warmer climate you can have them shipped. Thriving Pets.com is the best/cheapest place to get them in my experience.

Drs Foster and Smith also have a good price. And they ship meds free regardless of the total. $4.99 per bag.
I found this convenient because I only wanted 5 bags. You do need a script though. But they will just call the vet for it.
