Is it possible for the fluid to be stuck in the line? So I was able I believe to get some fluids in Felix but I'm not so sure as the line is so long and he was only still for about a minute or less.. I'm not sure if he got the all the fluids or not or if it's possible that the fluids could be stuck in the line. He doesn't have a fluid pocket because he wasn't still long enough. I could see the chamber dripping but I couldn't see the fluid moving through the line.

If that is true then fluids are going through the line. Then if the needle is properly placed the fluids are going into the cat. What can happen is thast the needle goes in the skin and then out the other side resulting in fluids not going into the cats and instead in the fur and on the floor.

do you have the bag as high up as possible as it runs on gravity....you can use a marker to mark where the fluids are at before you start and have everything ready. Fresh needle and ready to go. If you haven't poked thru the skin you should be able to feel the fluid if cat is dehydrated and you can check your marker ....

Try to make sure you tent the skin so as not to go thru it. What needles are you using? I love the terumo 19 gauge thin wall 1 inch, they go it like butter! so sharp and smooth. You can also have your kitty in position and turn the fluids to start flowing and then insert if you kitty is a escape artist:cat:
