Storage during hurricane

Hi all,

Irma's heading our way, and I wanted to verify how long prozinc is good without refrigeration. In the event of a power outage, I'd be able to keep it cold for a few days, but it might be longer. Does anyone know how long it will stay good at room temp?

I have not seen anything 'official', but I found a couple of places that said it is okay if left out at a reasonable room temperature for up to a day.

I wish you the best. I hope you will evacuate if that is what is being recommended for your area. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks, but I work in animal care so I will have to stay.

Please stay safe! As far as I've ever been able to find, there isn't a definitive answer to that. It depends on what "room temperature" ends up being, and even then there isn't a calculation. When power is restored, check for little floaties in the insulin. If you see floaters, it's gone bad. If it looks funny, it's gone bad. The only other way to know is to try it and see if the effect has changed.

And more than anything, please be careful. Sending prayers to you and everyone there! :bighug:

I hope that Irma ends up not hitting you! But please do be safe and check in with us when you can so we know you're all right!
