Thrilled to let you all know that Stinkyboy is officially off the juice!
We'd been on a no-insulin trial since late February, and his numbers were really good. He had a blip for a day on March 16th - numbers got to 200 - but when I spoke to my vet, the vet thought it was likely that he'd eaten something before I got home to test him. (I free feed both my cats wet food now; they each get 1.5 ounces in the morning and 1.5 ounces in the evening, with a tablespoon of either turkey baby food or a couple of pieces of freeze-dried chicken. Because Stinky tends to graze all day, it's possible that he'd eaten the last of his morning meal before I got home that day.)
Since then, his numbers have been ranging between 80 and 102, and he's full of energy again. He's almost 15 years old but galloping around the hours like a kitten again.
Also, Buddy Cat is losing weight since I switched them both to Fancy Feast Classic wet food and eliminated all the dry, and he's full of crazy energy again, too.
I'm still testing every day and talking to the vet every Wednesday, but my vet seems to think that we have it under control. He was pretty pleased.
Thanks to everyone on this forum who answered my questions and helped us! We couldn't have done it without you!
