Four nights ago Emma had a poop issue. She was not in pain but I smelled some very fowl poop and looked around. She had a very skinny 1 inch long poop that was stuck and I could see pink tissue from her anus sticking out with it like a full inch outside. She could not get that last bit of poop off. I very, very careful held onto the end of the poop and only gave slight pull. (trust me I didn't do anything remotely forceful I know that's bad) It came out but was very sticky and pasty like modeling clay. Her prolapse went right back inside. She has been fine afterward. This morning I saw a similar size poop with 4 inches inside the litter box and 3 inches out on the tile. There was also a "skid" mark where she had wiped it off.
I see the vet tomorrow at 10:30am but I could really use some insight on this.
Emma's DB is completely under control by eating nothing but FF.
I give her 1/2 tsp of the Miralax generic spread throughout the day in her food. (for the last 2 years)
She also takes Cosequin and Zobaline each day. (for the last 2 years)
I did recently stop giving her Gabapentin at night because she doesn't seem to need it anymore.
Yes, she does strain when pooping, no matter the consistency.
Thanks for any help you can give, or advice on what to ask the vet.
