Staying Steady at 150??

When someone gets a chance could you please look at Catee's SS.

The last 4 days he has stayed between 150 and 160... even at nadir. He has been eating better. I've been giving .60 and it is just staying the same. This is on the pet meter. I took it on Relion this morning and got 114, 150 on pet meter. Just seems strange.

He is doing very well, alert, seems to feel good.

Please keep in mind that he does free feed on Purina DM Dry.

Would appreciate any advice. I am not sure if I should go up to .80 or not.

Not a lot of mid-cycle tests, so we don't know how low he is going much of the time. I'd hesitate to increase without doing a curve - maybe this weekend?

Also, could you mark on the spreadsheet where you are using the pet meter and where you are using the Relion? It is critical for interpreting the numbers.

I've been using the AlphaTrak exclusively since he was re diagnosed. I have marked when I used the Relion meter instead out to the side in the notes. Which is just this one time in several weeks. I was getting so many 150s I decided to double check with the Relion meter.

I have not done many mid-cycle checks since March because of a illness plus I am also a tax accountant so have really not had the opportunity to do so. He seemed to be doing well on the Pre-Shots so I though I would try to save money on the AlphaTrak strips. It is getting to where I can no longer afford them but afraid to switch to Relion because of the difference between the two.

So you think do a curve and go from there? This weekend should not be a problem.

The mid cycle test I have done show him either saying the same or actually going up slightly. Just really do not understand.

I agree with BJ. Maybe this weekend get some mid cycle numbers and see what/where the nadir is. It does look flat at night but I wonder if his nadir is a little earlier than +6?

The good news is that he is in regulated numbers so his pancreas can heal. As you know Purina dry is higher in carbs than ideal, so it may be that he isn't going to drop. The food can keep the numbers up and more insulin may not change that. Our range for OTJ is 40-120 for 2 weeks, off insulin. Considering we generally are looking at ReliOn numbers, he is already being dosed at low numbers. I'd be reluctant to advise upping the dose or lowering the pre shot number.

No chance you can switch to lower carb? That might drop the numbers without changing anything else.

So, OTJ 40-120 would be Relion numbers correct?

It is good to hear that he is regulated. I will get a curve this weekend.

Hesitant to try and do a change again. He had a "spell" as we say in the south , of not eating much around the end of March/first of April. He would eat 2 ozs of food each day for two days then the next eat 4ozs. He has been eating his 4ozs daily for two weeks.
Would like to try Young Again... again. They have a Mature Formula Zero Carb now. I believe for now would like to just keep him eating Purina DM for now. He has food issues since he was sick in 2010/11.
