This is about my civvie cat twix. We noticed a small amount of white foam, perhaps the size of a quarter on our rug last week. We knew it was twix, because that is how she throws up, it is not often at all, but when she does, it looks just like that, just some small foam. Anyways, the next day I noticed more of her throw up, on the wood floor. It was dried up, but I could see the outline of where the fluid had been. It was clear cause it dried clear, and had just a few strands of cat fur in it. Twix was not, and is still not, acting funny in any way. She is still peeing and eating and playing. But now my concern is her poop. The other day peter mentioned that mocha had pooped in the litter box that twix mainly uses, and he said he knew it was mochas, cause the poop was light in color, and supposedly according to peter, that is how her poop looks now since switching her from FF to special kitty turkey and giblets. I had not noticed this. Anyways, just today I saw twix come out of our bedroom, so I went into the room to see what she had done in the litterbox and there was light colored poop, fresh poop! So now I'm concerned about twix's poop. She eats dry food, purina one, and has been all her life except for the three months she was on wet last year, and continued to get rodent ulcers so she went back on the same dry food she was on before. But why would her poop change colors all of a sudden?

Should I take her to the vet? Funds are EXTREMELY tight after mochas dental last week, pretty much to the point of non existent, if you know what I mean. She is still eating her food and playing with her toys, she is still peeing and pooping (just light colored) she is still purring for me when she lays in her basket.

The ONLY thing that is off is that little bit of throw up last week, which IS unusual for either cat to throw up, and now the light colored poop.

I told peter that perhaps she rubbed her face on his shoes (she does this a lot) and then licked her face and got something in her belly that didn't sit well. We have been doing a lot of work on our car and maybe some fluids got onto his shoes? We know he stepped into gasoline and possibly brake fluid. The shoes were not soaked in them by any means, but I'm wondering if that could cause this? Maybe it is a stretch .. I don't know ... I really can't afford a vet appt. but I can't go on stressing out over this either ...sorry this is so long, but peter is already tired of the subject because of how I bring it up every five minutes.

I don't know that if Twix is feeling and acting okay you really should worry. I would think that if he would avoid anything on your shoes that smells of car solvents and such. I sometimes think that on this board we are so attuned to every little thing the cat does, that we overanalyze things. I would wait to see if twix starts acting off.

When you say light colored, are you talking in the tan range, white range, yellow range, or what type of light color?

One thing you can try to do, is if you see Twix poop, and can get to it right away, take some and put it in the toilet and see if it floats and keeps on floating. Sometimes liver problems can cause light colored poop and also it will float sometimes. That is, unless it is totally covered with litter, then it would probably sink anyway.

But, I agree with Dana, that unless Twix is really acting sick or in pain, and as long as no more vomiting is occurring, then I would try to not worry about it.

And you did say you changed the food, and perhaps that is the reason.

I am no vet, though, so to be on the safe side, you might want to call your vet's and ask to have a vet call you back and explain what is going on. They might just want you to bring in a stool sample and test it.

Take care! Try not to worry (you sound like me and so many others here:) )

thanks you guys.

I think you are right dana. I really over worry about these cats, and half the stuff I mention to peter he doesn't see and he believes it is because I sit here and home and watch over them 24/7 and sometimes imagine that I am seeing things. Don't know if that is true or not, but I probably do worry about things I don't need to worry about!

Jean, I was talking like a light brown? Unfortunately the last time twix's food was changed was last year, and that was only for a short few months and then we had to put her back on dry.

But thank goodness, twix left us with a nice surprise of her reg. colored poop this morning! I can't believe what a relief it was! I'll try to keep my eye on the LB action for a few days to make sure it stays that way ..

Thanks again!
