Hello Everyone,

It was a really hard day for me...
Shanga's BG was 141 in the morning. I wanted to wait to feed him for 3.5 hours and see BG.
It was 492. :shock:
I dont remember how i flied to vet.
Finally She decided to use Insilun(She gave him 2 units Levemir)... But I think it was too much for the first shot...
I knew that because as all of you know shanga gets normal BG in 2 hours, after I feed him. She knew that too...
His blood sugar is going down fast... (It went down 200 in 1.5 hours and he didnt eat anything)... I hope he won't get Hypoglycemia...
We are at home now and Shanga doesnt feel good. He just sleeps and seems like he is so tired...
I am just so sad , I'll be with him until morning, I'll be ready for my babyboy if he needs me :)
Wish me luck pls :)

P.S: I want to change him insulin from lenevir to lantus ASAP...

Can you check her BG number again now? You can control that drop with medium or high carb foods like the ones with 'gravy'. Someone else should be by shortly to give more information.

It's 67. Feeding him now. I am gonna check every 20 min...
I dont know how i will know if he gets Hypoglycemia suddenly....

Sandy and I responded in your other condo. Here's my post:

Whatever time your vet gave insulin is your AMPS. Please start giving us numbers in the +time format like you've been doing and put the information in your subject line. We need to know what Shanga's test was as soon as you got the number and what your test results are from that point on. This could be a very dangerous situation -- or it may not be. Please keep monitoring every 20 - 30 min. like Sandy suggested.

We generally don't mix honey with water. If you should need it, you can add it directly to food. Do not overfeed. If you need to manage numbers, feed only about a teaspoon of food with high carb added to it. Please look at this post on handling low numbers so you will know what to do. (I can't be here for much longer.)

And yes, numbers can drop very quickly.

If Shanga dropped 200 point in a little more than an hour, please add some honey to the food now. You need to slow the drop.

Your AM number (or PM, I'm not sure with the time difference) is whatever the test was or it's a ??, when the vet gave insulin. You count the time from that point forward. So, the AMPS would be whatever Shanga's BG was at 12:10.

Sienne and Gabby I am doing it right now....

He got the shot at 12.10 pm today. And 2 hours 30 min later it was 405...
Bu then suddenly it started to go down fast...

I am checking now again...
