I'm at amps of 107 DX pancreatitis yesterday. Last night his preshot was low too so I did a drop dose. Clearly if I do a drop dose again I'll be dealing with a hypo and it's my sleep time (I work early mornings right now doing Uber eats) so I won't be up to monitor him.

Someone said pancreatitis needs insulin idk what to do

Copypasta my reply in other thread to have everything here

I said you want to avoid skipping if you can because of DKA. Given that Tuna is eating ok it's a little less worrisome, plus he's in a good BG range. I'd still check ketones if you can.

Bringing conversation over here - lots of us use Cerenia. I gave 8mg 2x a day, he's 13 lbs. It didn't seem to be doing enough so vet gave me go ahead to double it.

Im scared

But did the package say for use in dogs only? Because mine does

Yes.

From what I've read the injectable is approved for use on cats, but tablet hasnt been tested. If you're concerned you can also use ondansetron

I see, he has definitely reduced the amount of food he eats but at NS +2 he's in the greens. I wonder if that's because he only wants to eat half a can of food? He was supposed to be eating 2/3 a can for weight loss. I'm leaving the wet food out mixed with water incase it's getting stuck in his mouth, so he can eat when he wants to. I'm exhausted right now and need a big nap. Is there a chance he goes hypo on a NS?

No he shouldn't. Sometimes it's possible that ProZinc gives you a long duration but it shouldn't give you a second drop, once it's out of the system it's out. What you're seeing is that his pancreas is still partially functional, which is why he's so low dose to begin with.

Get your nap! He has food and water out he'll be ok.
