hi everyone i used to be a regular here a few years back when i adopted homer as a special needs diabetic. good news is homer is doing great and is in permanent remission after testing and giving insulin for a year or two when i first got him. i think i've had him for eight years now. one of my other cats, banjo who i adopted off of this board eight years ago because he was diagnosed as diabetic but really wasn't now has stage 3 kidney disease. i'm just trying to understand the best way to treat this particularly diet. i know they advocate a low protein diet but i've read about others who say that protein is ok if it is of high quality. if anyone has any advice or helpful info i would be greatful. he is going in on friday to check blood pressure and he is anemic too. so just want to get the best course of treatment for my sweetie pie. thank u!!
