I want to start a new SS for 2013 with out having to connect or extend the present one. Can I go to the main menu (before clicking on a desired SS) and start a new one? If so how to I get the SS template to go over to the new file? ohmygod_smile Meh, I can build computers but have a hard enough time building a SS, eh go figure! @-) Any help is appreciated! :-D

You might try a file, copy/duplicate, and then rename and wipe the old data.

Or, upload the spreadsheet from the Tech forum.

Click on your current tab then 'duplicate' as another sheet. Name the original tab '2013 THEN name the duplicate '2012'. It won't let you name 2 sheets the same name. NOW go to the 2013 tab and just clear all the data - do NOT 'cut', just do a 'clear' which will leave the formatting but get rid of the entries....

VILOA! 2 sheets!

OR

You can also just 'hide' those rows - that's what I do with mine....
 
I would start a new tab for the new year (see the yearly tabs in my spreadsheet) that way you have all the data in one place and can easily refer back. I also try to keep my lab work there. I can easily email this one link with all this data.

My tabs are at the bottom when I'm in my own spreadsheet. I do a right click on the tab and then click on Duplicate.
That will give you an exact copy of your present spreadsheet. Go to that new "Copy" and delete all the old data by highlighting the rows you want to delete, do a right click on the rows and then click on delete rows ..
Then when you are satified, you can do a right click on the tab of the "Copy" and Rename is 2013 or whatever you want.

Well, I just blew it all to kitty litter. ohmygod_smile Just getting over the flu for the past few days and was going crazy to get busy again, guess I should have waited. ugh!!!!! :roll:
