Civies Leroy and Emma (formerly Toaster Strudel) are still getting along well dancing_cat They're always chasing each other around bcatrun_gif Occasionally Emma will have a hissy fit because Leroy won't leave her alone :shock:
Emma is finally eating NV raw :thumbup But only if I mix in crushed up freeze dried raw into the mushed up nugget :roll: She'll still get a little canned for snacks, just like Leroy does.
The rescue was at the pet store again today when I dropped by to get more raw food. They're really happy that Emma is doing so well :smile: They had a gorgeous 3 year old Balinese cat for adoption today cat_pet_icon It's really uncommon to see non-DSH cats available for adoption around here.
Leroy has a huge appetite now :shock: He had been eating 2 nuggets twice a day. He's now eating 2 nuggets for breakfast and as much as 6 nuggets for dinner, spread out over a few hours :shock: Not sure if he's going through a growth spurt or if he's just burning through a ton of calories because he has Emma to play with now or what. Since he's so active I'm not worried about him getting fat. I need to stock up on more raw food before the NV coupons expire. Leroy is getting neutered next Friday.
Scooter the gerbil turned 4 years old today
That's really really old for a gerbil 
Aveage lifespan is about 3 years. Despite her health issues (benign marble-sized cyst on neck, gimpy leg that didn't heal properly after being broken, occasionally eye irritation), she's still doing well. I emailed the vet to let her know about Scooter's birthday and to give her an upate on how Scooter is doing. She responded back and said that she was pleased Scooter was doing well for a 4 year old :smile: I think Scooter is her oldest gerbil patient ever.
