Hi Squeaky vomited, he hasn't done that for a long time. Was it because of the insulin?

Maybe from the stress of all this?

Okay he had his shot around 10:30, after eating. He was fine all day and might have eaten more, definitely ate some treats. He was nauseous when I offered him a treat around 5 pm, and vomited around 5:30. Whole pieces of food with some liquid sludge (might have been the orijen treats). He felt kind of hot when I petted his body.

The mother is tense and stressed. Today's a crummy day. I can't take him outside to sit on the grass, which would help EVERYTHING, because of the forest fire smoke. It's so thick I can smell it in the house even with windows closed all day.

Looking forward to any kind of help or reassurance. Thanks in advance. At least, he is laying around with his head up. That's better than head down.

Okay he is feeling better, he has moved to the sofa. Doesn't feel so hot. Whew. Seems like he's still nauseous.

We have never done this before.

Normal human thermometer with protection sleeve okay? How long? What temperature are we looking for? I will look on youtube for videos.

    Okay.

Insulin never causes nausea or vomiting.

Feeling warm and throwing up once are not enough reason to attempt an anal temperature check.

Before you do that, see if the ears are hotter than usual. Check the nose. It should be cooler.

Wow I wish I had known you 13 years ago when I got Squeaky. Learning these things is invaluable. Thank you for teaching me.

His ears are warmish and his nose is coolish.

Also, if it's warm where you are, he's going to feel warmer too...especially if he's found a nice sunny spot to nap in.

I was just reading one of your other threads.
DO NOT GIVE A SECOND DOSE OF PREDNISONE.
You do not know how much Squeaky absorbed before he chucked.

Thanks, I won't. You are right, I don't know. He's drinking water now.

Thank you! He's better today, after I took him outside in the sunshine for a while, on the grass. That always makes him better! We couldn't go out yesterday because of the smoke.

You must be in Northern Ca or Oregon. Its been really bad up there along with the heat its unbearable.

I'm glad the smoke isnt too bad and you both got to enjoy the sunshine. That was Waldos fave thing to do lay in the tall grass. sigh

Colorado. A few days ago a fire broke out near Rocky Mountain National Park. We have a bunch of fires burning in the state and are expecting snow tomorrow. Hopefully it will put them out.

Squeaky always looks SO much better after we go out, even for a little bit!
