I hope I haven't overlooked something in the FAQ, but I'm interested in the colorful spreadsheets that everyone seems to be using. Can someone explain to me how to read them?

If you would like one (which is a great help for you, your vet and us) you can sign on to Google, and search templates for FDMB spreadsheet. Ask for help if you need it.

The color code is across the top of the spreadsheet. It helps you see the general trend of the numbers at a glance. Amps=morning number before the shot. +2 is the number 2 hours after the shot, +6 is 6 hours etc. pmps= evening number before the shot

Very helpful, thank you. I had originally thought the color codes across the top were column headers, hence my confusion.

Sometimes Google won't let you actually use the template for some reason  You can find the template just fine but when you click on the "Use This Template" button, Google often gives an error message.

The current way of getting a template to use is here http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=50130 Download one of the templates from the first post in that thread and follow the instructions on how to upload it to Google, and at the end of the thread, how to publish your SS so that others can see it.

Good job on the spreadsheet, Eric! I saw your post on the PZI forum also. You might start a new thread there and ask for some dosing advice. We have several people dealing with higher preshot numbers.

He does have high preshots but goes low in the middle of the cycle. A curve would really help you see what is happening - test every 2-3 hours over a cycle. He may be going low and bouncing back up. It is hard to know if he needs more or less insulin without more numbers mid cycle.
