Hi All,

I’ve not updated Derek’s online (FDMB) spreadsheet for about 10 months now… I prefer to keep a more simplified /personalized one updated on my computer. It’s also easier to print out and is preferred by my vet as well...

Any way… I was wondering if there’s a way to input the data from my spreadsheet into the online (FDMB) one. That way I would able to have (and maintain) both and would be able to share the online one here. It would great to be able to reach out to the nice folks here with questions or at times of possible trouble and have the spreadsheet up-to-date.

Thanks!
John and Derek

The phrase "rom my spreadsheet " implies that you are using a spreadsheet.
Depending upon format/what created your spreadsheet you can likely upload it to Google docs and then "publish" it the same way for "our" spreadsheets. The download fall is that you will have upload it each time you want one in this forum to view it.

Thanks for that suggestion. I may have to do that…

What I was hoping could be done was import the data from my simplified spreadsheet into my FDMB spreadsheet so it’s in the same format that everyone here is used to seeing and working with. Probably involves excel programming that’s way over my head.

Thanks again…

You can try just copying and pasting the BG values from your SS to the one used by most of us here. do do that the column have to be same as in your SS.
Another way is when you need t others to see your SS is to just attach your SS to your post using the upload a file button

Thinking here... could be a dangerous thing... it would be great to have one spreadsheet with both charts (sheets) in it... the data could be entered into one (or the the other) and it would automatically update the other... anyone have any idea how difficult that would be to do in excel?
Thanks

No problem. You could always do an export of the FMDB spreadsheet, then start using that format going forward. Daily imports either direction might be painful longterm.

Hi John - it's not that hard at all. Let's take a simple example:
1 spreadsheet with 2 tabs named "Leo 2016" and "Leo copied".
In the first tab, column A has some numbers.
In the second tab, you want those numbers to auto-populate from the first tab. (so you don't have to type them in).

1) type a number in the first tab, let's say in cell A23
2) on the second tab, in the same column type
='Leo 2016'!A23
The number from the first tab will now copy to the second tab.

To get a series running, just make 2 of those cells on the second tab.
Then highlight both cells.
Then drag from the lower cell down. It will auto-increment the values.

Now anytime you type the next cell in the first tab, it will auto increment into the second one.

Yes it may take time to setup multiple columns. But after that, it will just auto-populate.

Hi Jeff,

Thank you so much… this might just work… there’s hope! I’m sure I’ll have to work thru some issues… but it might just be worth it. Now… to find some spare time.

Thanks again... you're great!

No problem. Spreadsheets can be great tools. I know 2 people who work fulltime and spend huge amounts of time in spreadsheets.
