We had two mornings when Casey was too low for me to shoot so I reduced the dose to .5. When she was up to340 yesterday morning I gave 1 unit which I guess I shouldn't have because then my pm number was too low to shoot. High again this morning at 357. I gave her .5. I am doing a curve today.
 
mGreat job managing the dose, Terry. One seems to be okay for the higher pinks while .5 looks good for anything lower. You can try fat and skinny doses to get a dose between 1 and .5 or you can try U100 needles. A fat dose is when you pull up just a tiny bit more in the needle; a skinny dose is when you pull up .5, for example, and let a drop or two out.

You can also buy some U100 needles. )be sure to get the ones with .5 unit markings). If you do that, you MUST use the conversion chart because you are shooting a U40 insulin with U100 needles. The chart is here:

Using the U100s lets you dose amounts like .2 and .4 easily.
