Hi! Newbie here!
Going out today to get a home testing kit for my cat and I just wanted to know the basics of what needs to be on the spread sheet, how to determine how much insulin he needs with his numbers. If there is a link to all this please link me up. I appreciate all feedback.
Thank you!
Erika and Harry

Hi Erika and extra sweet Harry! The spreadsheet as a place for AMPS (morning preshot test number), PMPS (evening preshot test number), the number of units given and places for your test numbers during each 12 hour cycle. We use '+xyz' format rather than times so everyone can use the same format. You'll see +1, +2, +3 etc - that's the number of hours since the shot when the test was done.

The stickies at the top of the forum will help you get started learning about dosing.

Thank you Squeaky! I'll look into it!

Until you have your spreadsheet up and running, you can list your day's tests in a column like this
### AMPS
### +2, if you test at that time
### +6, if you test at that time
### +10 if you test at that time
### PMPS

Hi Erika! I procrastinated with every excuse in the book to not start a spreadsheet "I've got it in my notebook", "I don't have enough info to start it", "I can always look at my whiteboard and notebook"....then I bit the bullet and started it. I quickly discovered it's the best tool in my diabetic toolbox after our test meter. I could suddenly see trends, see what was actually happening. You just can't see that on paper.

I'm having someone come over to help me from the message boards today! I'll have to talk to her about helping me set up a spreadsheet and the best ways to use the message boards because it is all a little overwhelming for me. Thank you for your help on Fb and here, though! I so appreciate it! When I get it all set up all attach it all to my signature. :)

Hi, Erika! Just popping in to welcome you to the "Clan of the Sugar Cats!" And to let you know that I'm in your time zone (northern AZ) & usually around fairly late (i.e., midnight-ish).
Great job on getting your first BG test done! :joyful: Will look forward to peeking at Harry's spreadsheet once you've got it up and running.
:bighug: - Robin

Thanks Robin!! Cindy came over to help me get my first test reading on Harry! Yay!! She's going to help me with my spread sheet too. Good to see another 'Zoney' on here!
