Posted several times a year and a few months ago about Blackie 13 yr old who was diagnosed with FD. Reading of 29 mmol, balance problems, urine problems. Vet prescribed insulin (Caninsulin) 4 units. Used Zobaline and insulin daily. After a month readings droppped to below recommended, symptoms of balance and gait disappeared. We took him off insulin and put him on diet of 90% wet food (Friskies and FF) chicken and fish pate. Monitored his readings weekly and they stayed between 4 and 6 mmol, no other symptoms for over a year. Now his readings over the last month have risen to a range of 15-17. Has anyone had similar experiences? Any comments and suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
