not happy about the low protein numbers but what can you expect from a no frills cheapy wet cat food, it looks like the other 3 values are very good for sugar kitties? I will be boosting the protein numbers by mixing in real cooked meats for the chicken, turkey and beef varieties or real tuna in the seafood varieties as my cats really like this stuff more so then the friskies or 9 lives brand wet foods. I did not ask for the nutritional values for the other varieties of SK wet foods with gravy as these are the ground/pate styles and I just figured the stuff with gravy would be too high in carbs for my sugar baby

If those are the "as fed" values, the protein amounts are fine

If you look at an expensive food like Weruva, you'll see the protein percentages in the same general ranges

Yes those are the "as fed" values .... I was comparing the protein values against the list of wet foods Dr Lisa had put together so that is why I thought protein levels were low, all the wet food she has listed is 21% or higher and I think I read she recommends a wet food that is not less then 40% protein .. I don't mind adding in the extra meats .. when I cook I tend to make too much for just myself but there usually isn't enough left over for another meal so the extra meats I have leftover, I have been cutting into small pieces or shredding it and using that as a treat for him since they have no seasoning or anything on them

How do I convert carb% to figure out carbs. This is my second round with a diabetic cat, my first passed away in 2010 so it's been a while since I've been on here and I'm relearning things like this. We are going to start with special kitty because we have 5 cats that will all have to eat the same thing. Plus it looks like the food list is kind of old and I may need to relearn how to do the figures anyway . . .

Thank You so much !!! My Squeakers will only eat this brand and only a select few at that.

I'm confused. How do the carbs compare to 9 Lives Meaty Pate? Would this be under 10% as well? One of our fur babies was recently diagnosed and I'm wanting to switch to wet food instead of the dry food that our clueless vet has recommended.
