I was wanting to know if anyone has a spare Levemir Pen I could buy?

Both of the Vets I see wont prescribe me Levemir. :? Well, Im only seeing just 1 vet, my new one. But I tried asking my old vet that I got the last batch of Lantus with and that didnt work either...

My old Vet won't prescribe me a "different" kind of insulin without seeing her first. So thats $60 of the money I saved for insulin. And My new Vet, which so far is waaaaaaaay better than my old Vet wants to stay on Lantus cause he's never heard of Levemir. (I’m sure there are other reasons, but I only got to talk to the receptionists and by the end of the 5th call they Were Not very happy talking to me so I just said "ok Thank you, when I find I cheep price of Lantus I'll call and let you know" (with smiles in my voice as I do NOT want to rock the boat with my 5th Vet!! This town isnt that big and my options are running thin.)
If you remember my story and are curious,- the Vet did run some tests and she did have an infection so she got put on antibiotics. Yay, good vet!(insert smiley face with hearts for eyes) lol

Anyways,
She has been without insulin for... 2 months now. Her last batch of Lantus (my first batch of “lantus”) expired in January... I didn’t know Lantus expired in 28 days after sticking a needle into the vial. Ug. :/ So, Onward and upward to Levemir, which turns out WON'T make my depressed kitty more depressed! XD

Maybe even someone knows someone that knows someone? Hehe It would be wonderful and greatly appreciated for any help!

If you are having financial issues in order to provide care for your diabetic cat, please contact Diabetic Cats In Need.

They may be able to provide you with Lantus, but will probably need a prescription for it or Levemir either way.

You also need a prescription to order from Canadian pharmacies now. We used to recommend people who were interested in switching go that route when their vet wouldn't prescribe Levemir.

Most of us had to convince their vet to prescribe Levemir by providing information, few vets have heard of it. Here are some links:

Thank you for the support. It brings me comfort knowing that others had problems with there Vets too.

I thought DCIN was for homeless cats. Thank you. That will bring peace to the back of my mind... And now I have more info/links to give him.
