After a tough battle with lung cancer, my civie Sophie has gone ahead. She is breathing comfortable tonight and playing with all the other kitties. I am trying to give Sya lots of love tonight as they were very close. She keeps looking for her. We talked together a lot before all of this. Been a tough couple of days.
Gave Sya a lower dose tonight. Hoping it was low enough. Getting some bounce in her numbers these days. It would be just my luck she goes hypo tonight. :cry: At least I have test strips...it will give me something to occupy me I guess.
I know I did the right thing...she was getting to the point that I needed to act or she was going to suffocate in agony at home. Its just always so hard.
 
I'm so sorry to hear about Sophie.
You did the right thing, although I know it is heartbreaking to do.

Very sad you had to let your Sophie slip away. My little tyrant Min had breathing problems so I know exactly how awful and scary the breathing problems can get. You absolutely did the right thing to let her go easily.

I am so sorry...yes, love on Sya a lot; it will help both of you. And remember that Sophie is free, running, able to get a good, fresh breath of rainbow-scented air at the Bridge. You'll see her again...

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your beautiful Sophie. Have lost 2 to lung cancer....my heart goes out to you and also to Sya.....they miss their buddies so much.
 
I'm so sorry that Sophie had to leave you - but I can think of nothing worse than not being able to breathe and you did indeed free her from the little body that was failing her.

It's the most difficult decision that we must make and is done with so much love - you have indeed set her free.

I'm so sorry and I so hope that your wonderful memories and love shared will comfort you in your grief.

Even though your heart is breaking you did the right thing. Sophie would be the first to tell you that. I'm so sorry for your loss. Land softly little Sophie...

That decision is the hardest to make, and that final gift the hardest to give. May God bring you comfort and peace now, and in time, may memories of Sophie feel like soft caresses to your heart.
