Sometimes, Softly… A Christmas Visitor Comes!

Sometimes at midnight upon Christmas Eve
A kitty will visit the one who did grieve.
They just need to see the one left behind -
To know they’re okay, and to just ease their mind.

For kitties do worry, when from pain they depart
About the human, they hold deep in their heart.
That’s why they send Rainbows, and sunset display
To let their dear loved one know they’re okay.

But Christmas Eve’s special, for we’ve all heard that
In a stable at midnight, the animals chat.
And sweet little kitties, go ‘home’ for a while
To be sure that their human has re-learned how to smile.

Thus if, around midnight, you feel in your sleep
The faintest of touches, down by your feet.
And if, when you’re stirring, by this gentle touch
You may hear a purr that says “Thank you so much.”

“For the love that we shared, still is tight in my heart.”
And “I’m waiting for you, up where Rainbows start”
And sometimes the kitty will see snuggled there
The kitty they sent you – your heart to repair.

The angel and kitty, may chat for a while
Sharing the things, that will cause you to smile.
For each of them loves you, in their special way
And each wishes you, a joy filled Christmas Day

Hi Carol,

Remember me? I am your Minnesota friend with the "other grey guy" whom you helped to save his life - it will be two years in February that Jake, who was 17 at the time, developed DKA due to his vet taking him off insulin. As you recall, the same vet wanted to put Jake to sleep because of her error, and you guys told me to go get him! Long story short, the wonderful E.R. Docs in Eden Prairie saved him. Jake is 19-1/2+ now and has been insulin free since April 29, 2010 - getting close to two years - all paws crossed here!

Anyway, I thought I would check the list because I do not get here too often, found you first, and wanted to tell how much I enjoyed the Christmas visitor! I need to get back here more often. I hope you are well.

Merry Christmas to all,
Judy & Jake

thank you for sharing this! wow! tears flowing and remembering my special Gumpy Girl! and enjoying the 2 left behind, Sugar Bean and Civvie Slappy... and now our new family member....Ittle Sista...aka - Komodo(a)!
I sure needed this as I am looking at Slappy almost 16 and doing ok, but mommabean worried too much about her.
Then Sista out of surgery yesterday (spayed), but dealing with some sort of allergy thing??? Think just tonite there is yet another spot on her bottom lip. Dont know how much my pocketbook can handle.... worried again...
Then this lovely poem, tears for my Gumpy flowing and it lets me know, all will be ok!!
I do believe Sista is carrying on Gumpys love and as she develops her own personality, I do see Gumpy in her! :-D

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF OUR GA BABIES!

Oh thank you ladies..... Judy, I'm so glad your kitties are with you... Gumpy would be so proud.... I lost my Spunky in October... and then adopted a little Sammy.... Who screams for fresh water while standing in the sink.... just like Spunky would.... AND now just for Christmas... sleeps wrapped around Stevie and together they run and wrestle and play... and Tom and I can see they're really playing....

Merry Christmas and Thank you Lord for our loving kitties.
