Yesterday Kahlua seemed kind of mopey and I was needing lots of toppers to get her to eat all her food. Last night she didn't eat much at all. I brought out some baby beef, which she did eat. Today I am using lots of baby beef and feeding small meals very often. She's peeing and pooping normally, but spending all her time in her bed. She does bathe a bit after eating, but not a full groom at all. Her BG has been steadily rising, too. Something is wrong....infection? Im almost out of the beef. I do have turkey, but she's not really a turkey lover.... and everything is closed. I do have all the nausea meds and some miritaz. Do I go that route? Thoughts?
 
I would be proactive and pick up some Ketostix in case you don't have any at home. I'd also wonder about pancreatitis. Keep an eye on her use of the letterbox in case she has a UTI brewing. When was the last time she had a vet check-up? Sometimes, if there's a dental issue and there is dental pain, a cat may not want to eat. It's also entirely possible that this will be gone in a day or two. If anything changes, it may mean a trip to the emergency vet.

I've got a brand new box of ketostix ready to go. It could be dental. I know she had some redness at her last checkup. I'll have to see when that was. February? The pee seems normal, but i am no expert. I did give her some d mannose. She takes a tiny amount daily, but gave her a big dose today. Poor girlie.

She saw the vet on 3/24/26.
 
We saw the vet yesterday. She had very full anal glands and her poor left ear was packed with wax. She got a cerenia shot and a b12 shot. Everything looks good, otherwise. Her t4 was 1, so I am reducing her meds a bit. She seems brighter, but is still living on baby food. And her BG.......should I increase her dose? The vet said it may take a couple days for those numbers to come down. What should I do?
 
Sorry no one got back to you sooner. It looks like her numbers are coming down. Remember, it takes a while for Lantus to have an effect and the same is true for some of the other meds.
