If I start feeding Dusty Nature's Variety Instinct Grain-Free Chicken Meal Formula dry cat food just as something to nibble on between his main wet food meals, will he drop off remission? Has anyone successfully used this cat food on a diabetic cat or one in remission? nailbite_smile

We have had one member whose cat fell out of remission on that food. But she left it as and easy to feed meal for a petsitter for a couple weeks, not as a snack. I'd monitor and see what happens.

I leave canned food out for 12 hours at a time for the 15 cats to nibble on.
Also, you can freeze some, then put it out, so it will thaw for nibbling gradually.

Not getting a warm fuzzy about using that dry food and I won't risk loss of remission... I've done the frozen cat food ice cubes and I might try to just leave some canned food out, the only thing is my other cat Beni just can't limit himself, if there's wet food out he'll eat and eat and eat until he throws up. I did get some timed food bowls but it's a luck of the draw on who finds the bowls open and he'll eat it all up with nothing left for the other kitty. Being at work most of the day does cause some feeding dilemmas... They're maintaining their weight so I know they're not starving although they try to make me think they are when I get home ;-)

What have you tried for treats? Oliver loved Bonito flakes; Niko likes freeze dried chicken (PureBites). Other s like Stella and Chewy's treats. All are a little crumbly/crunchy.
