Milo isn't eating this morning. He cries when you pick him up. When he goes to lay down its all he can do to get down. He is 13 been otj for 5 years. I've posted how his numbers have gone up in past 3 weeks to about 200. I have appointment at 830 at my vet. I honestly wondered if a stroke but he did walk. I want to check levels but don't want to hurt him. Can high levels cause issues like I've described.

You’ll need a watch with a second hand. Feel your cat’s heartbeat with one hand over his left side, just behind his front leg. Count the number of beats in 15 seconds and multiply by four to get the heart rate in beats per minute (bpm). A normal cat's heart rate is between 140 and 220 bpm, with a relaxed cat measuring on the low end.

It was just in relation to my previous post. Hyperthyroid cats have an elevated heart rate. It doesn't sound like that.
Hope it goes well at the vet and everything is okay.

Thanks. He did get up and has been nonstop drinking. Glucose at 221. Wondering if kidneys. Just scared. I know he hurts and it's like a child whemail kitty is sick and can't tell you what's wrong.

Maybe his BG is just higher in reality than the results you are getting from your meter? If he is eating well, it is less likely to be kidney problems.

Fingers and paws crossed over here that your vet will be able to help Milo feel better very soon. cat_pet_icon

He may have a GI inflammation/infection causing discomfort. Most of those are treatable - ex pancreatitis.

Hang in there.
