Even though Thaiger is OTJ now, i'm still noticing that she is getting a lot more dandruff the older she gets. We have hour long brushing sessions a couple times a week but nothing seems to really solve the problem. She has had two baths since I adopted her 5 years ago and those did not go so well, she is quite the crotchedy old lady at 17 years old (in 5 days!). I have also tried waterless shampoo but that doesn't seem to solve the underlying problem either.

She doesn't scratch herself so i don't think it's irritating her and her furr is the fluffiest, softest fur ever so I don't think there is a bigger skin issues going on...

What has worked for you?

Dusty also still has a little dandruff after being OTJ for over year now. It's nowhere as bad as when he had full blown diabetes but it's still there with a flake or two always around. I also wonder what would help, maybe the Young Again they're now getting will help long term.

A lack of essential fatty acids may result in dandruff. Discuss supplementation with your vet.

Has a thyroid panel been run? Sometimes low thyroid can cause excess dander. I would also ask your vet about giving a fish oil supplement.
This is a little off topic but when I got my Husky as a pup he had terrible dander. I started giving him a fish oil capsule and it cleared up the problem in a very short time.

She has hyperthyroidism which is currently being maintained very well with Felimazole. Are there any supplements I should watch out for with her diabetes, hyperthyroidism and gallstones?

I use the above link to get the omega 3 as well. It hasn't disappeared, but the dander is way more under control than it was before I started it. I mix it in his food once a day and he eats it no problem.
