So frustrated and disappointed right now...

He's been doing so great lately. Hoping his curve doesn't drop much more. Might re-check once more but it looks like he'll be ok.

Edit: Looks like he did great. I'm counting on his curves to flatten more if I ever shoot any lower. Thank goodness I'm home to monitor him.

Edit 2: new post update below....

UPDATE: 4:18PM
Just found out my baby's numbers have been higher than he tested all along. The new Petsure strips (since 5/26) were testing about 30 points lower than the Alphatrak strips.. He was never doing that great.. I'm so disheartened and upset that I didn't realize this earlier. How dumb I feel for having hopes of remission. :(:banghead:

all strips have a variance. You could test the same drop seconds apart with the same brand strip and get a 30 point difference.

I'm not understanding your spreadsheet...why are the numbers all crossed out?

30 points is not a big deal...unless you're referring to 30 points when you're under 50...up in the higher numbers that's not a big deal at all...like I was saying to another member; blues are blues, greens are greens and yellows are yellows...look at the ranges and the trends...It becomes more critical when you're down in the low end and kitty is hovering around 40-50...then things get a bit more touchy.

You may want to continue to use a human meter to save money on strips - and not worry terribly about the slight variation you're seeing.

I'd suggest you to take a look at the SS of other cats. You may realize that your cat is doing great . I use mostly Alpha Trak 2 which is supposed to be very reliable. With the same blood sample, you are not even assured to have the same result (this week: 9.5 and 10 with the same blood drop).

You are NOT dumb for thinking of remission. I WISH I had your numbers consistently right now.The numbers you have been getting with either the AT or FS strips are great! Please, don't be so disheartened. :bighug: That feeling is SO normal...we have all had that at one time or another...another :bighug: just for good measure. There is a meter/reading/strip variance at about 20%, and when I googled the difference with the percentage calculator, your is at 22% difference between your FS strips and AT strips. Totally normal variation. Stick with one or the other...or because of cost, I, personally, would switch to the human Relion meter and strips. (strips run $17.88 thru Wally World). Your vet may not like it, but who cares....you are in charge. I wish you peace and knowing. This is, as you full know is a marathon...you have been at this for longer than me, but you are in the GOOD place! Hang in there! :bighug::bighug:
