I know we still need a PMBG, but…everybody get loose loose Snitter off the juice juiceeee!!!!

So happy for my girl and a big thank you to everyone here who helped me a long the way!!

Special shout-out to @Angela & Cleo for always being up super early with me to catch my chaotic panicked AMPS posts.

Now that she is a food controlled diabetic cat I want to tackle het hairballs. @Wendy&Neko guided me by telling me it could be a GI issue. Until I’m able to get to the vet I want to get her on some good GI supplement/probiotics to ease her along. Any recommendations? I remembered I had slippery elm bark powder last night and syringed that into her. She slept good right after and ate very well, so I really think it helped! She has mostly good days but yesterday I could tell her stomach felt a bit bad.

I plan on getting her in for a dental and additional labs once my personal life calms down - I don’t want to have to cancel another vet appointment due to schedule conflicts.

Thanks for the shout out, but this is all you and Snits! It has been a joy watching you Rock Stars on this journey.

Enjoy the falls Snits! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Woohoo, congratuations!

One of the things you can do to help hairballs is to give dried egg yolk powder. You can buy it already made up, or make your own. Webpage with more information on it here. Follow some of the links on that page for more information on hairballs and probiotics. I give Visbiome to my IBD cat, it's a probiotic made for IBD, and they have a pet line.

Woohoo Day 14!

Congratulations and well done! Nestle, Peanut and I wish you and Snits a very long stay at the falls.

Let's Party!
Woo Hoo Congrats Steph and Snits
Just a suggestion you can add to your signature the date Snits went OTJ
A member suggested that to me when Tyler went into remission :cat:

Yay!!! So excited for you both! It looks like you stopped filling in your SS. I was hoping to take a peek once in awhile to see how you're doing long term OTJ. Are you not going to do any testing now?

Oh, I thought I was supposed to check weekly now? I was going off the guides and from what I was told. I was planning on checking her monday and then a few times a week and then a few times monthly after that. Is this not standard?

You got it right. Here are the part of the instructions for completion of the OTJ Trial:

Once he/she is through the trial successfully, you enter a new phase. Your cat is still diabetic but has now become diet-controlled. Continue feeding low carb food in the manner successful for your kitty. If you decide to change his/her feeding schedule, let your meter be your guide to the best times to feed. Avoid medications with sugar in them and steroid medications unless they are medically essential. Continue testing blood glucose weekly for the first month and then monthly forever. It's a good idea to weigh him/her monthly. Weight should remain stable. If he/she seems "off" or sick, or is showing signs of diabetes (excessive drinking, eating, urinating, weight loss), test his/her blood glucose right away. Keep the teeth and gums clean and healthy; dental issues can bring a cat out of remission. If you see rising blood glucose numbers, it's time for a visit to the vet!
Congrats again!

Oh ok I didn't realize that. I take a peek at Karamela's SS every so often to check up on her and Maria. She still tests once a day so I assumed that's what was done. I'll still take a peek at you guys once in awhile too. I like to live vicariously thru you all since I know Shooter will never get there. ;)
