I don't get to the boards too often anymore, but Snickers is celebrating her 21st birthday today! When she was diagnosed with diabetes in 2006, I thought maybe I'd have a few more years with her. Thanks to the great people here, I learned to test her and got her on the right food and insulin. After about six months of treatment, she went into remission for about three years. Now she gets .5 - 1 unit of BCP PZI a day. She still hops on the couch for her test (and in true Pavlovian form, drools because she knows a treat is coming!), and gives me head butts. I can't imagine my days without my beautiful girl. She misses her "sister" Sasha, who we lost to renal issues about three years ago, but she puts up with the siblings she acquired when I got married 7 years ago. I hope to have a few more years with my girl, but I know I wouldn't have had this long without FDMB!
Such a cute name for such a lovely kitty.
