Sneakers

I let Sneakers go to be with her sister Olive at 11:30 today. She was so ready. She meowed once last night and once this morning- the first real sounds she has 'spoken' in quite some time.

She did one last walk around the inside of the house and then a walk out in the front yard. I remembered my cell camera after she wobbled and stumbled and then did a little video for me to have. I gave her some frozen vanilla yogurt- she only ate half of it but she did have some.

Mom was able to take her lunch time and come with me to the vets office. I should have her ashes back next week. I left her wrapped in one of her fleece blankets that she used in the winter. I told them I was okay for it to be cremated with her.

Thank you all for your wonderful help and comfort and guidance while Sneakers and I took this trip together for the last 3 years. I know I will have medicines and supplies of Sneakers that can be used for other kitties. Thinking back she had to be almost 20 years old. She was 7 when I got her and I have had her for 13 years. She has lived a wonderful and full life, more so because of this board.

I have spent the day remembering my sweet girl and regretting her having to go. But I know she is no longer tired and aching. She is free and playing hide and seek with the other friends we have made on this board.

Heather, you did such a great job with her acro and FD - 20 yrs is amazing and I am sure they were loving years with you. She will remain in your heart always and remembering her and celebrating her, while so hard to do at this time, is the balm for your broken heart.
