I will be boarding Sneakers a few days while I am in Chicago in two weeks. I have asked and they will give insulin shots and feed her her own food, but they won't test.

Should i drop her dose the whole week while in Chicago for pet sitter and boarding alike (although my pet sitter is game to test her)? Currently she is at 3.2u and I am holding and waiting to see what happens now that she seems to be dropping the carbs to see if she will also drop in numbers.

Another post on here- for Libby who would be having Hershey kept by her mother (hopefully)- had the suggestion lowering the dose because the levels would not be checked. Since I will keep in contact with the sitter who will take her to be boarded I only really be will be worrying about the boarding place.

Yes. I asked twice in different ways- they will only shoot the insulin. "She is regulated already, is she not? You just tell us how much to shoot..." At least my pet sitter will either text me or I will show her how to get onto Sneakers SS and update it for me. If I need to lower it for the boarding I will know.

As she will only be here 2x I think I will need to get an automatic feeder to be loaded for a day snack and a night snack. If I get it this weekend during my 'spare' time I should be able to try it out and have it set to go for Cyndia.

She had in the 500's post food tonight but I think that was due more to no food influencing her levels- she didn't have as much this morning compared to her usual and though I left more out she probably ate all that by 3 or 4- another reason to get a feeder  .

Even if you pay for the testing they won't do it if request it?
I would love to take care of her if we lived closer. She is a cute cat & from the sounds of it has a funny personality.
Cute little Sneakers!

I've got friends in Houston, Dallas, Ft Worth... it would be old home week  .

The funny thing is- my sitter who is taking care of her Sun-Thursday morning is going to Chicago Thursday night- we might even see her :-D . We come home Friday night and she comes home Saturday night. That's just the way the cookie crumbles.

Was it you about a week or two ago that asked about things to do/see & places to go in Chicago? If not, there was a great post - worth doing a search on. I grew up in the suburbs, but have been away for ~30 years, so not as tuned in anymore, other than doing one day in the city w/ the nephews at Christmas. Hope you'll have a fantastic time! DRESS WARMLY - layers are good! Even if it's not cold, the buildings make for incredibly cold wind tunnels! Enjoy!

Yes- I can't wait to go.

Even if I just had to spend all of my spending money on my foot this last week mom is looking up all of the free places to go- museums and such. I plan to buy a few tights rather than pantyhose as I think they might be warmer by a smidgen. And we both have trench-coats with the zip-in liners. I've also got leather gloves with fleece inside or I could take the ones that welders use :-D .
