Poor Mama Bean forgot to bring Sneakers numbers with her to work to fill out the SS chart...
But everything has been in the pinks or reds  . I think there was one yellow last night.

No ketones on the ketosticks for the last two days HURRAH!!! :-D So maybe her insulin is enough to ward off the ketones but not enough to take her numbers down.

I'll update when I get home tonight. The next few weeks will be busy. Have an appt the Monday I come back to take her to the vet for check-up. Apparently my other vet didn't do a real thorough job at the first when diagnosed- did not check kidney functions or anything else.

I am also worried about her numbers not dropping like they should be... I am thinking about switching to another insulin. Will talk to the vet and other FDMB members about options. If I wasn't leaving I would do it right now but I am not comfortable enough to do that when I will be leaving for a week.

Time is going faster and my to-do list is getting longer!

Hi friends.
Hurrah for no Ketones!! A vet visit sounds like a really good idea. Especially since the last one want real thorough.
My vet always looks real quick in Baxters mouth & says things look ok. If I start a conversation about Baxters teeth he will really look in his mouth & look at all his teeth & gums.
Have you ever had Sneakers teeth clean? There might be a tooth or something that really isnt visual in her mouth. It is something I would talk serious to the vet about.
One memeber Sev & Kitty had sky high BG. Kitty had bad teeth. Sev changed vets because the vet kept wanting to dose. The new vet had Kittys teeth taken care of & BAM 2 weeks later Kitty was OTJ. If you get a chance look at their SS. They have some really good notes.
Teeth might not be Sneakers problem, but it is something to really look at.

Chart updated.

Sneakers had her teeth done about 3 or 4 years ago. For years, when I brought her in for her annual I talked about it "Fine", "Fine", then all of a sudden it is "They need to be cleaned! They are in such bad shape!"

I have brought it up currently with my old vet (just recently in fact) and he did the cursory look and said they were fine since the last cleaning. As I am on the Arkansas Oral Health Coalition I kind of want my teeth and those of my 'kid' to be taken care of. I wonder if the fluoride in the water benefits them too...

She does have bad breath, that is true! But she lets me rub her jawline and I do get a little rough to see if there is any soreness and so far there hasn't been. Whether that indicates good teeth or not I don't know.
