Smokey gave me a rough 24 hours

Smokey has been doing well for a few days using the zofran / mirataz combo. His appetite was back and he was eating full meals . On Friday I started doing only 1 dose of zofran in a 24hour period and 1 dose of mirataz. And then Saturday night into Sunday he decided to resort back to his old ways. (Only licking gravy and will eat high carb dry food) .

Saturday night I was out of town and he was with my sitter who I trust to do insulin but not to test him and monitor so I had her skip the shot.

Sunday morning he still wasnt wanting to eat so I gave him about a half cup of dry food so that he got food in him and then adjusted the zofran schedule so that I will be giving it every 12 hours.

Sunday evening he ate a half of a can of wet food and I did a full dose .

I wish I could figure out what is going on with his appetite . And to top things off I'm out of ketone strips. He has been good with that and my delivery of more strips doesnt come until thursday so hopefully everything will be good until then .

No. I did move his appointment up though but didnt do an emergency visit because from everything I've read there is not much more you can do for pancreatitis than what I am doing. Am I wrong ?
The things that are usually addressed with pancreatitis are pain relief, antinausea drugs and SubQ fluids if the cat is dehydrated which they frequently are with pancreatitis. I found with Sheba, once she had one off SubQ fluids, and injections for pain relief and nausea, she mostly picked up at home quite well. Sometimes she needed more fluids and some antinausea meds but every cat is different. Some cats have nausea for a while and others seem to be able to eat quite well quickly.
The test is good to do because then you know what you are dealing well

I just went to check on him before going to bed (he sleeps in my daughters bed) and my daughter said hes been shaking and scratching his ear alot . I picked him up to look at it and he had it scratched open . I took a video of his ear and was going to post it but it's not allowing me.

Zofran only works for a few hours. I think he’s nauseous. It’s given 2-3 times a day. Max had chronic pancreatitis for years. He always became inappetent. I gave him zofran twice a day and cyproheptadine but when he got the right dose of zofran he didn’t need an appy stimulant.
