Not much change in her numbers yet with the increasing every 6 cycles. Few more pinks so it looks like something is bouncing. I hate the balance between going too slow and letting a dose settle, the two concepts seem at odds with each other.

Today after her +3 test I was rubbing her belly and felt 2 pea sized lumps in/on her belly. One I actually thought might have been something wrong with a nipple from the location, but it was kind of between two nipples and under the skin. It felt to be just under the skin. The other felt to be deeper, about an inch or two away from the first and right at the base of her rib cage. Didn't seem to hurt or bother her when I was rubbing them.

I am totally freaked out nailbite_smile We lost Peanut to cancer that stayed hidden until too late to do anything. I called the vet and we have an appt for tomorrow afternoon.

melanie, that's scary. i know dogs grow fatty tumors - our dog had several - that can be nothing. punkin's got a pea-sized lump on the back of his neck but i've had 3 vets look at it and all said they thought it was nothing. when he has the anesthesia for his next dental i'll have them do whatever to make sure.

i'm wishing it's a lotta nothing on smokey too! let us know what you find out. sending good thoughts your way!

I would be freaked out too! I hope it's just a couple of cysts. Let us know as soon as you find out. Prayers for Smokey and you, Melanie.

Hi Melanie and Smokey,
Sending prayers and healing thoughts your way. Hope the vet visit goes well and Smokey's numbers come down for you. It's so interesting how different each cat can be in terms of how they respond to insulin. My Munchie is bouncy, bouncy and Smokey seems set on yellows.

You did the right thing and made a vet appt. Don't get ahead of yourself -- one step at a time.

Smokey does have a fatty tumor on one side, it is probably 10X bigger than these things, and squishier. She's had the big fatty tumor for many, many years.

It would scare me to pieces, too. Good luck at the vet tomorrow afternoon, and let us know what s/he says.

Hoping the new lumps are more of the same fatty things and nothing to be concerned about. Try not to worry too much until you see the vet. There's nothing you can do between now and then. Much easier said than done I know :YMSIGH: Sending Smokey some sort of fatty lump vines - do we have those?

I think what freaks me out the most is how they just appeared. I rub her belly a lot and haven't felt them before. I felt them instantly so I don't think I've just been missing them.

Tomorrow I am going to need A LOT of good vet vibes.
Not only is Smokey going to get her belly lumps checked out, our fosters go in to be fixed. That is usually run of the mill stuff, but they are from a hoarder situation and had been terrified and fed only plain rice for a very long time so their nutrition was not the best. Fingers crossed they are ready for surgery. We probably would have waited for them to get a bit more socially adjusted and nutritionally stronger, but the poor girls are in heat so they really need it done sooner rather than later. ( This could be attributing to Smokey's numbers. She will sit in the shower, which is above their room, and howl with them at night ~O) )
This momma is going to be a wreck tomorrow.

at the risk of oversharing, i'll share anyway. :lol:

a couple of years ago i found a lump on my breast. :shock: ran over to the doc, not quite panicking because my mom had had a lot of cysts but never cancer, but always aware of the worst possibilities. anyway, the doc took it very seriously. i've been going to him for 25 years now. he told me it was something "scientific wordy" - i can't remember what the exact phrase was.

but my response was "are you saying it's a ZIT?"

what i've been told a couple of times, including when the vets looked at the lump on punkin is that when they are attached to the skin they are rarely cancer. when you feel it lower inside the body and hard, and not attached to the skin, that's more worrisome.

Yea, this is under the skin, not on it or attached to the underneath. That's how I figured out it wasn't a nipple ;-) The second one is actually deeper in yet, feels in the muscle or attached to the bottom of her rib cage. Because she is such a furry thing, it was hard to get a good feel of them. Not to mention she was quite insistent that the whole belly needed rubbing and would keep shifting to move another area under my hand.

Hi Melanie,
We'll be thinking good thoughts tomorrow for Smokey's vet visit. I hope the lumps are nothing and that the vet visit will put your mind at ease. Good luck with the fosters, too. They are really lucky that they are with you now.

I hope the lumps are nothing and Smokey will be given a clean bill of health.
I also hope your fosters do well and aren't too stressed out with the whole thing.

Don't worry before you have to, which I hope is never. Sometimes lumps are just fatty tissue and mean nothing. Sending lots of good thoughts your way for your upcoming vet visit.
